24 Hours of Pride – Polaroids of Kitchener-Waterloo’s Queer Community

Kitchener-Waterloo has been my home for 12 years. Though living in the city has had its challenges, 2025 was the first year I felt like I had found community.

Using two packs of Polaroids, I split the project into two studies: day and night. I used film photography to create a physical object of queer existence. The use of film acts as a record of queer memory outside of digital manipulation.

24 Hours of Pride acts as a reminder that despite erasure and silence, the queer community in Kitchener-Waterloo does not capitulate to homophobia and transphobia, and will persist.
